Job Title: Mechanic
Reports to: Workshop Controller 

Type of position: Full Time

Hours: 37.5 / week

ROLE OF THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT

• To ensure client vehicles and workshop vehicles are parked properly
• To valet clients’ vehicles to a high standard
• To delight our customers

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

Tasks

• Perform quality work in accordance with instructions on the repair order.
• Complete paperwork thoroughly
• Inform the workshop foreman about job difficulties.
• Diagnose motor vehicle faults.
• Inform the workshop foreman about additional repairs or services required.
• Call out/overtime hours
• Test vehicles following repairs.
• Make quality check at end of work
• Maintain an orderly and clean workshop.
• Keep personal and shop tools in top condition and inform the workshop foreman of any broken or unusable tools.
• Training and supervising assigned trainees and apprentices.
• Handle customer vehicles with care.
• Contribute to the maintenance of Health and Safety.
  

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

• Previous experience in a similar role
• Previous experience working for a Motor Trade Brand
• Experience with diagnostics software tools.
  

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• City and Guilds Part 3
• NVQ, Level 3, Motor vehicle (or equivalent)
• Or FP2 (Formacion Professional) en rama del automovil
  

SKILLS/ABILITIES/ COMPETENCIES REQUIRED 

• Current driving licence
• Use companies computer systems efficiently
• Listen effectively and communicate clearly

Realizar trabajos de mantenimiento y reparación conforme a los estándares del concesionario y fabricante.

 

JOB DESCRIPTION

TAREAS Y RESPONSABILIDADES

   
• Completar toda la documentación requerida. 
• Informar dificultades al jefe de taller. 
• Diagnosticar averías. 
• Informar sobre reparaciones adicionales. 
• Realizar guardias/horas extra cuando sea necesario. 
• Probar vehículos tras las reparaciones. 
• Realizar control de calidad al finalizar. 
• Mantener el taller limpio y ordenado. 
• Mantener las herramientas en óptimas condiciones. 
• Formar y supervisar aprendices. 
• Tratar los vehículos de clientes con cuidado. 
• Contribuir a Salud y Seguridad.

• Realizar trabajos de calidad según la orden de reparación. 

REQUISITOS DE EXPERIENCIA: 

• Experiencia previa en puesto similar. 
• Experiencia previa con una marca del sector automotriz. 
• Experiencia con software de diagnosis.

REQUISITOS ACADÉMICOS: 

• City & Guilds Parte 3. 
• NVQ Nivel 3 en Vehículos de Motor (o equivalente). 
• O FP2 (Formación Profesional) en la rama del automóvil.

HABILIDADES / COMPETENCIAS: 

• Permiso de conducir vigente. 
• Uso eficiente de sistemas informáticos.
• Escucha activa y comunicación clara.
