The HSE Regional Leader is accountable for leading, coaching, and governing Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) performance across a defined region. This role provides functional leadership to site-level and frontline HSE professionals, ensures consistent implementation of company and regulatory HSE requirements, and partners closely with Operations and Functional leaders to manage risk, improve performance, and strengthen HSE culture. The role balances direct oversight of regional HSE resources with strategic engagement on operational risk, customer requirements, and regional initiatives, serving as both a technical authority and a trusted advisor to leadership. 

 

As an Environmental Health & Safety Advisor - Regional Operations, you will be responsible for: 

 

• Providing functional leadership and oversight to site-based and frontline HSE professionals, setting expectations for compliance, risk management, incident prevention, and HSE performance, while coaching and developing HSE staff. 

• Serving as the escalation point for significant HSE issues, incidents, regulatory actions, and customer concerns, and partnering with Operations, Engineering, and Business Leaders to integrate HSE requirements into operations, projects, and planning. 

• Advising leaders on HSE risk identification, mitigation strategies, and safe work execution, including construction, commissioning, and maintenance activities, while supporting customer and stakeholder HSE engagements, audits, and performance discussions. 

• Ensuring consistent implementation of corporate HSE policies, standards, and management systems, including ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 aligned systems, monitoring regulatory compliance, and driving corrective actions where gaps are identified. 

• Leading or supporting incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive action tracking, and analyzing regional HSE performance trends to drive continuous improvement. 

• Leading regional HSE initiatives and improvement projects across multiple sites or functions, contributing to enterprise programs, coordinating multiple priorities, and communicating HSE expectations, risks, performance, reports, and recommendations to leadership. 

 

To be successful in this role you will: 

 

• Have a Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Science, or a related field, OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible HSE experience. 

• Have a minimum of 3 years of experience supporting regional or multi-site operations in an HSE leadership or senior individual contributor role, with working knowledge of occupational safety, environmental compliance, and risk management principles in an operational or industrial environment. 

• Have experience supporting complex operations, field service, manufacturing, energy, industrial services, or construction environments, with familiarity with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA, and applicable regional environmental and safety regulations. 

• Have strong leadership, coaching, communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence without direct authority, manage multiple priorities across several sites, work independently in a matrixed organization, and travel within the region as required.
