The Drilling Service Manufacturing Supervisor supports and coordinates daily manufacturing operations to ensure work is completed safely, reliably, and consistently. The role supervises production execution, monitors operational performance, resolves shop floor constraints, and contributes to improvements in products, processes, and procedures.
This role provides frontline operational supervision across production, wiring, assembly, testing, and manufacturing activities. It translates the manufacturing plan into daily priorities, coordinates people, materials, equipment, and workflow, and maintains disciplined execution against HSE, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity requirements. The position works closely with cross functional teams to sustain production line reliability and implement continuous improvements.
- Coordinate daily production and activities in line with the approved manufacturing plan, customer priorities, and operational requirements.
- Assign and follow up work across technicians, ensuring clear priorities, balanced workloads, and timely completion.
- Monitor production line performance, identify constraints, and escalate risks affecting safety, quality, delivery, cost, capacity, or equipment availability.
- Ensure compliance with HSE, Quality, manufacturing procedures, standard work, and documentation requirements.
- Support daily production meetings, visual management, KPI reviews, action tracking, and accurate operational reporting.
- Coordinate workforce, materials, T&TE, and equipment to maintain reliable and consistent production flow.
- Work with Plant Manager, planning, engineering, quality, Facility maintenance, supply chain, materials planning and sourcing teams to resolve operational issues and material or technical constraints.
- Support preventive and corrective maintenance coordination to improve equipment uptime and minimize production disruption.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and process issues.
- Identify and implement improvements in products, processes, procedures, standard work, workplace organization, work order efficiency, resource utilization, productivity, and cost.
- Lead Lean, Six Sigma, digital dashboards, automation, MFG Ideas and other continuous improvement initiatives.
- Coach team members on safe execution, technical requirements, quality expectations, operational discipline, and continuous improvement.
To be successful in this role you will:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related technical discipline.
- Typically, 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing, Production supervision
- Hands-on experience assembling Baker Hughes Drilling Services TIDs, coordinating daily production, assigning tasks, monitoring progress, and resolving shop floor issues.
- Working knowledge of HSE, Quality, standard work, production control, equipment reliability, and manufacturing documentation.
- Ability to read and interpret production plans, technical procedures, drawings, work instructions, and performance data.
- Experience using Lean, Six Sigma, root cause analysis, 6S, and other continuous-improvement methods.
- Strong computer skills and practical experience with SAP system, Microsoft Office, production dashboards, Power BI and operational reporting.
- Strong communication, coordination, problem solving, and team support skills.
- Demonstrated ownership, accountability, attention to detail, and commitment to safe, high quality, and timely execution to fulfill customer requirements.
