- Work with Senior Grant and Policy Manager to research, track, and evaluate potential grant opportunities
- Develop grant opportunity summaries for review by agency leadership and program teams
- Prepare proposals by determining concept in consultation with agency leadership and program teams
- Develop proposals by assembling program, budget, and evaluation details, including project nature, objectives, outcomes, deliverables, implementation timetable, staffing, budget, and performance metrics
- Meet proposal deadlines by establishing priorities and target dates for gathering information from program, fiscal, and evaluation teams and for proposal writing, review, approval, and submission
- Research and identifying funding opportunities to support essential and innovative projects aligning with MOED’s mission
- Work with program, fiscal, and evaluation teams to gather information necessary to meet all reporting requirements for grants in a complete and timely manner
- Prepare grant reports and work in concert with MOED’s program teams, fiscal team, and Performance and Planning Division to summarize significant findings
- Maintain current and complete records in electronic file library
- Prepare written content for agency reports, agency presentations, program materials, and other written products as needed. This might include program presentations to funders, city leaders, or national organizations; program summaries; and/or policy briefs.
Requirements

- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
- Energy, enthusiasm, adaptability, and problem-solving ability
- Knowledge of fundraising information sources and fundraising strategies
- Ability to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Strong interest in and understanding workforce development programs and practices and/or related social policy areas
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Understanding of and ability to apply a race equity and inclusion lens to work
- Empathy and commitment to economic and social equity for all Baltimore residents. Knowledge about geographic, demographic, and socioeconomic inequities in Baltimore.
- Preferred: Existing positive relationship with local and/or national philanthropic organizations
Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to positions identified as positions of trust will be required to complete authorization for a Criminal Background Check and/or Fingerprint must be successfully completed.
All persons, including current City employees, selected for this position must complete a mandatory six-month probation.
This position is required to complete a Financial Disclosure pursuant to Sections 7-7, 7-8, and 7-9 of the City Ethics Law. The initial financial disclosure must be submitted within 30 days of hire.
