Quick Summary
MAINTENANCE OFFICER Casual role | Strathalan Community, Macleod VIC | Roving role across Baptistcare sites in North & South East Suburbs $34.62 to $35.
There's a different kind of maintenance role waiting for you.
At Strathalan Community, your work directly shapes the comfort, safety and dignity of the people who call this community home. This isn't a job where you're just fixing things and moving on. Instead, you'll get to know the residents, understand the site, and take genuine pride in keeping it running smoothly.
If you're ready for steady, structured days and a role where your work is genuinely valued, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
As Maintenance Officer at Strathalan, you'll take ownership of the preventative and reactive maintenance that keeps our residential aged care community safe, functional and welcoming.
- Complete preventative and reactive maintenance works in a timely, well-documented manner
- Manage and maintain Essential Services Maintenance (ESM) systems and requirements onsite
- Coordinate and follow up contractor work, ensuring it's completed to a high standard and fair market rate
- Liaise professionally with residents, families, staff and contractors day to day
- Keep accurate records and report on works performed in line with policy and compliance standards
- Look after tools, equipment and site safety, reporting hazards and defects as they arise
This is your opportunity to take real ownership of a site and make a visible difference to the people who live there.
You don't need aged care experience to succeed here. Just the right hands-on skills and the right attitude.
- Trade certificate or equivalent, or at least 5 years' experience in a similar maintenance role
- Experience in building construction and maintenance
- Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating contractors
- Comfortable using MS Office and basic workplace systems
- A current driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle
- Full working rights in Australia and a satisfactory National Crime Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Construction Induction (White/Red) Card and Test & Tag certification highly regarded
