Barnes Aerospace is seeking a Lead Inspector. We are seeking a dynamic individual to be responsible for supporting the quality activities including verifying that all inspections are properly performed and documented to meet customer expectations, and make determinations of hardware condition per technical documentation. This person will be a key member of the inspection team and help maintain the quality standards and specifications as required by our customer(s) and the FAA.
Hours - Friday - Sunday 6pm - 6am
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Ascertain that all inspections are properly performed on all completed work
- →Verify the proper inspection record, reports and forms used by the Repair Station are properly executed prior to releasing the product for return to service
- →Proactively, and in collaboration with peers, recommend changes in Quality processes and organization, industry standards and specific skill areas.
- →Participate in professional forums on specific issues.
- →Recommend changes in work flows where appropriate.
- →Constantly strive to improve quality at reduced cost.
- →Manufacturing and office environment with high paced, stressful workday
- →Must have good verbal and written communication skills to communicate effectively instructions, concepts, and solutions to all levels of employees
- →Assist all personnel assigned to the inspection department
- →Providing for continuity of inspection responsibility to ensure completion of required inspections when personnel shift or assignment changes occur.
- →Be an active participant in development of the inspector training program.
- →Responsible for ensuring a safe work environment that meets all required health and safety requirements
- →Performs other duties as required.
Requirements
~1 min read- 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in aerospace environment.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, good communication skills.
- Previous FAA Certified Repairman or Airframe and Power Plant Mechanic highly desirable.
- Proficiency in the use of measuring instruments (i.e. various micrometers, verniers, swing snap, and dial gauges, etc)
- Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and technical documents.
- Experience with CMM operation and programming is a differentiator.
- Good mathematical skills.
- Knowledge of FAA, CAAC and EASA regulations
- Strong communication and ability to teach/train.
