Concrete Finisher

B&B Contracting Group is currently seeking a dedicated Concrete Finisher to join our growing company in our Excavation & Shoring Division.

Key Responsibilities

Job duties include but are not limited to:

• Fabricate and erect forms for civil concrete construction.
• Set forms for curbs, sidewalks, and flatworks.
• Place and finish concrete.
• Perform miscellaneous concrete works and skilled labor tasks.
• Check formwork, granular base, and steel reinforcement materials.
• Direct the placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade.
• Fill hollows and remove spots on freshly poured cement.
• Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specifications.
• Work at heights, on scaffolding, or swing stages as required.
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools.
• Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces.
• Waterproof, damp proof, and restore surfaces.
• Repair, resurface, and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures.
• Operate power vibrators to compact concrete.
• Uphold a safe work environment by adhering to safety policies and work procedures.

Qualifications and Skills

• Journeyman Certification or a minimum of 3 years of experience in concrete finishing.
• Physical ability to perform tasks involving moderate to heavy lifting, bending, reaching, and carrying.
• Willing to travel to Vancouver Island and other locations within the Lower Mainland.
• Valid driver's license and transportation.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings is an asset.
• Experience working with curbing machines is an asset.
• Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools safely and maintain them in proper operating condition.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions in outdoor environments.

COMPENSATION

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $38.00 - $43.00 per hour

Hourly pay rate will be adjusted based on skills and experience.
