If you’re passionate about making a difference and thrive in a collaborative setting, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center is looking for a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Actively participates in all required department meetings.
- →Attends related in-services, workshops, and conferences, as assigned.
- →Performs other related duties as required.
- →Performs other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the department and organization.
Requirements
~1 min read- At least 3000 hours of supervised work experience in a substance use disorder counseling environment.
- An understanding of addiction treatments, including pharmacology.
- Assessment skills.
- Counseling skills.
- Reporting and record keeping.
- Cultural competence.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Speaks, reads, and writes English to the extent required by the position.
- Bilingual skills are a plus (Spanish, etc.)
- Heart Saver/CPR certification is required.
- BLS certification is preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of 270 hours of alcohol and drug education, approved by member boards of the International Certification Reciprocity Consortium (IC&RC) [APCBNJ in New Jersey or its successor], or a regionally accredited college or university which shall be related to the knowledge and skill associated with the functions of an alcohol and drug counselor.
Completion of required continued education coursework, annually.
$37.01 per hour
