To provide high-quality care and early years education for children in line with the EYFS, contributing positively to the daily life of the nursery and supporting the development and wellbeing of every child.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS and our NHC 12 curriculum framework
• Act as a key person for an allocated group of children, building warm, secure relationships
• Observe, assess and track children's progress, maintaining accurate and up-to-date learning journals
• Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and carers, communicating openly and professionally
• Uphold and actively promote the nursery's safeguarding policies and procedures at all times
• Ensure the environment is safe, stimulating and well-resourced at all times
• Support the inclusion of all children, including those with additional needs
• Contribute positively to the team, attending staff meetings and training as required
• Maintain confidentiality in all matters relating to children, families and staff
• Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by the Manager
Person Specification
Essential
• Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent) — fully and relevantly qualified
• Sound knowledge and understanding of the EYFS
• Experience of working with children aged 0–5 years in an early years setting
• A genuine passion for working with young children
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• A calm, nurturing approach and a team-player mindset
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• Right to work in the UK
Desirable
• Experience as a key person
• Knowledge of Tapestry or similar online learning journal platforms
• Paediatric First Aid certificate
• Experience supporting children with SEND
