Position Summary
Bethel University's Institutional Advancement team seeks a part-time Advancement Communications Coordinator to support consistent, strategic, and mission-aligned communication with alumni, donors, and parents. This role will help coordinate newsletters, alumni social media content, and communication timelines in partnership with the Alumni Director, the Vice President for University Advancement, and the University Marketing and Communications team.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to write and coordinate communications that strengthen relationships with Bethel's alumni, donors, parents, and friends.
Essential Responsibilities
Alumni, Donor, and Parent Communications
Coordinate, develop, and execute regular newsletters for alumni, donors, and parents in collaboration with the Alumni Director and the Vice President for University Advancement.
Assist in identifying newsletter content that highlights Bethel stories, alumni engagement, donor impact, campus updates, student success, and opportunities for involvement.
Help maintain a consistent communications calendar for Institutional Advancement audiences.
Ensure communications reflect Bethel University's mission, values, voice, and advancement priorities.
Alumni Social Media Coordination
Coordinate alumni social media platforms in partnership with the Alumni Director.
Assist with planning, drafting, scheduling, and monitoring alumni-focused social media content.
Highlight alumni stories, events, achievements, giving opportunities, and ways alumni can remain connected to Bethel.
Support consistent engagement across alumni communication channels.
Cross-Department Communication Coordination
Coordinate with the Director of Communications and the Marketing Team to ensure timing, messaging, and content serve Bethel University in the best manner possible.
Help align Institutional Advancement communications with broader university messaging, campaigns, and brand standards.
Collaborate with internal partners to gather stories, photos, updates, and relevant information for publication.
Track upcoming events, campaigns, and announcements to avoid communication overlap and strengthen message clarity.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be a strong writer and communicator who is organized, detail-oriented, collaborative, and able to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Candidates should be comfortable drafting, editing, and coordinating newsletters, social media content, and communication calendars while working with multiple departments and stakeholders.
The candidate should demonstrate professionalism, creativity, follow-through, and the ability to maintain confidentiality when working with donor, alumni, and parent communications.
Experience with newsletters, email platforms, social media scheduling, communications calendars, alumni relations, advancement, donor engagement, or higher education communications is preferred.
The candidate should be able to communicate with warmth and professionalism in a way that reflects Bethel University's Christian mission and values.
