BetterHelp is on a mission to remove the traditional barriers to therapy and make mental health care more accessible to everyone. Founded in 2013, we are now the world’s largest online therapy service, providing affordable and convenient therapy across the globe. Our network of over 30,000 licensed therapists has helped millions of people take ownership of their mental health and change their lives forever. And we’re not stopping there – as the unmet need for mental health services continues to grow, BetterHelp is committed to being part of the solution.

As the Senior Manager, Care Transformation at BetterHelp, you’ll join a diverse team of licensed clinicians, engineers, product pros, creatives, marketers, and business leaders who share a passion for expanding access to therapy. And as a mental health company, we take employee mental health just as seriously as we do our mission. We deeply invest in our team’s well-being and professional development, because we know that business and individual growth go hand-in-hand. At BetterHelp, you’ll carve your own path, make an immediate impact, and be challenged every day – with a supportive community behind you the whole way.

The Care Transformation team sits within the Clinical Department as a cross-cutting function responsible for evolving BetterHelp’s clinical model over time. The team integrates clinical strategy, quality improvement and product partnership to continuously improve how care is delivered at BetterHelp.

Our work spans three core areas:

  • Clinical Integrity: Ensuring clinical soundness in our product and features
  • Quality and outcomes: Defining, measuring and improving quality and outcomes
  • Future Care Models: Designing next-generation care models, including AI-enabled care

We are seeking a flexible, analytically strong, and clinically grounded leader who can operate across these core areas. In this role, you will contribute to care model design, generate data-driven insights to inform strategy, and support the evaluation and implementation of clinical partnerships and initiatives.

This is a highly cross-functional role at the intersection of Clinical, Product, Data, and Strategy. You will work across teams to translate clinical needs into actionable plans, use data to guide decision-making, and help bring new care models and partnerships from concept through execution and iteration.

The ideal candidate is comfortable navigating ambiguity, able to move between strategic thinking and hands-on execution, and motivated by improving access, quality, and outcomes in mental healthcare. This role offers the opportunity to have a direct impact on how care is delivered at scale, while helping shape the future direction of BetterHelp’s clinical model.

  • Contribute to the design and evolution of BetterHelp’s care models, including workflows and AI-supported experiences.
  • Support strategic decision-making by identifying gaps, opportunities, and tradeoffs in the current care model.
  • Analyze clinical, product and operational data and synthesize findings into clear recommendations for stakeholders, practice management, influencing product, clinical, and business strategy.
  • Partner with the Data teams to design analyses and dashboards that support ongoing decision-making.
  • Collaborate with our Strategic Partnerships team to evaluate, pilot, and implement clinical care partnerships.
  • Translate partnership opportunities into clear clinical requirements, success metrics and operational plans.
  • Support end-to-end execution, including pilot design, rollout, performance tracking and iteration.
  • Ensure partnerships align with BetterHelp’s clinical standards, safety expectations, and long-term care model strategy
  • Provide clinical input to guide model design, product development and user experience.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to translate clinical requirements into scalable product features and experiences
  • Contribute to research studies or internal evaluations.
  • Support Clinical Department initiatives, including office hours, newsletters, and other team programs as needed.
  • Represent BetterHelp externally at public events, webinars, presentations and/or conferences.
  • You will NOT worry about "runway", "cash left", or "how much time we have until the next round". We have the startup DNA but we're fully backed and funded, all the way to success.
  • You will NOT be confined to your "job". You will get involved in product, marketing, business strategy, and almost everything we do.
  • You will NOT be bogged down by office politics, ego, or bad attitude. Only positive, pleasure-to-work-with people are allowed here!
  • You will NOT get yourself burned out. We work hard but we believe in maintaining a sustainable work/life balance. Really.

Yes. We operate on PST and candidates in any time zone are welcome to apply. We ask employees to travel to our San Jose, CA office up to three times per year plus one company-wide offsite to collaborate in person and strengthen working relationships. Travel expenses are covered and reasonable accommodations are made for those under unique circumstances who cannot travel.
