Assists Survey Crew Chief in land and road surveys related to construction projects

Operates survey instruments to determine location of rights-of-way, elevations, and distances for setting rods and stakes

Cuts brush and clears area for surveying
- →
Assists with maintaining and servicing survey vehicle and equipment
- →
Utilizes flagging to direct traffic on road construction sites for public safety

Performs related duties as required
Requirements
~1 min readGraduation from High School or General Education Development (GED) certificate
Knowledge of safety standards and practices
Skill in the operation of hand tools; skill in the operation of surveying instruments; skill in performing basic mathematical calculations
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions; ability to understand distance and measurements; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, County employees and the general public
Must secure and maintain a favorable background investigation and clearance
Must clear a pre-employment physical and a pre-employment drug screen test
Must have a valid Texas driver's license
May be required to work more than 40 hours during the workweek
Required to be on-call 24-hours a day
