Material Coordinator - Fabrication/Modular

This position is based out of our Nisku, AB location.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate material requirements with project managers, procurement personnel, and production teams.

  • Review project schedules and fabrication priorities to ensure material availability.

  • Monitor material shortages and proactively identify potential impacts to production.

  • Support project execution teams with material status updates and reporting.

  • Maintain accurate inventory records and material traceability.

  • Oversee receiving, storage, handling, and issuance of materials.

  • Conduct regular inventory counts and cycle counts.

  • Manage material locations and warehouse organization to improve efficiency.

  • Ensure proper storage and preservation of materials.

  • Coordinate receipt of structural steel, piping, fittings, equipment, consumables, and other project materials.

  • Verify received materials against packing slips, purchase orders, and specifications.

  • Identify and document damaged, missing, or non-conforming materials.

  • Coordinate with Quality Control personnel to ensure material certification and traceability requirements are met.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in materials management, warehousing, logistics, or fabrication operations.

  • Experience within structural steel, modular fabrication, industrial construction, or process piping environments preferred.

  • Strong understanding of material control, inventory management, and warehouse operations.

  • Experience with ERP systems, inventory management software, and fabrication management platforms such as Tekla PowerFab or SpoolFab,

  • Valid forklift certification considered an asset.

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
