Security Clearance Coordinator

Reporting to the National Security Officer, the Security Clearance Coordinator will play a supportive role ensuring compliance with the Contract Security Program and their Requirements. This role could be expanded to other public sector organizations within the security industry such as RCMP, Public Safety and Ontario Public Service.

Please note that this position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain a Secret-level security clearance. This role will be based out of our Ottawa office.

Responsibilities

  • Shall be responsible for maintaining the site security database and updating access control records

  • Responsible for updating guard post orders and providing direction to guard supervisor

  • Assisting with the submission of site SRCL's and RFV's

  • Providing security guidance to subtrade partners

  • Conducting site security inspections and audits

  • Shall assist with the receiving, storage and transmitting of sensitive project information

  • Shall be required to work on the project job site

  • Oversee guard force and update guard post orders

  • High school Diploma

  • 3-5 years as a security coordinator, including any relevant schooling or equivalent program

  • Experience as an ACSO

  • Advanced computer skills, specifically in MS Excel, MS Word, and PowerPoint

  • Familiarity with PSPC’s Contract Security Program and policies.

  • Currently possess a security clearance or able to obtain security clearance in Canada

  • Highest standard of professional ethics, confidentiality, and integrity.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and meet the time demands of unpredictable activities, capable of handling pressure and challenges.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks independently with strong time management skills to meet deadlines in a high-pressure environment.

  • Ability to forge, grow, and maintain positive relationships.

  • Strong interpersonal, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational skills, including effective prioritization and follow-up.

  • Self-motivated, action-oriented, and able to work collaboratively in a team environment or independently on routine tasks with a positive attitude and exceptional customer service.

  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals; ability to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment.

  • Superior written and verbal communication skills.
