Germany News & Localization Manager
Bitcoin.com is seeking an enthusiastic Germany News & Localization Manager to take ownership of our presence in the German market. With over 75 million wallets created and a global audience, Bitcoin.com is one of the world's leading crypto content and onboarding platforms. This is a hybrid role combining daily news writing with market localization ownership for Germany.
Responsibilities & Core Competencies
Role Overview
The Germany News & Localization Manager will own Bitcoin.com's presence in the German market across three areas: producing timely, locally relevant news content; ensuring the German version of the site is properly localized (not just translated); and monitoring how the German market is performing so the company can make informed decisions about future investment in the region.
This is not a purely editorial role, it combines the rigor of a News Writer with the ownership mindset of a local Market Lead. Germany is the first market of this kind for Bitcoin.com, so this person's approach may become the template for future regional hires.
Key Focus Areas and Key Responsibilities
- Content Production
Write and publish 3–4 news articles per day in German relevant to the German market, covering crypto, finance, tech, and AI. Content should be genuinely newsworthy and locally relevant, not translated wire copy — sourced from German / EU developments, regulatory activity, and market-specific angles where possible. - Site Localization & UI Quality
Own the quality of the German version of the site. Regularly review the localised UI (navigation, buttons, static/product pages, error messages, etc.) for accuracy, natural phrasing, and cultural fit, not just literal correctness, and flag or coordinate fixes with the relevant team. Proactively present improvement suggestions to localise for the German market. - Market Performance Monitoring
Track and report on key performance indicators for the German market, including organic traffic, keyword rankings for German search terms, on-page engagement (time on page, bounce rate), and article-level performance. Use this data to inform content strategy and to help leadership evaluate the German market's growth against other potential markets. - Local Market Intelligence
Stay current on the German crypto, fintech, and regulatory landscape (e.g., BaFin, EU / MiCA developments as they apply locally), German competitor content, and topics trending with the German audience specifically.
What This Role Is Not
- Promotional or sponsored content
- Speculative or fabricated news angles
- Opinion pieces disguised as reporting
- A pure translator role, this person shapes and owns the German content strategy, not merely translating English copy
Must-Haves for this role
- Native fluency in German, with strong professional English.
- Proven news writing experience, with the ability to identify a legitimate news hook and execute clean, fact-based coverage.
- Strong understanding of cryptocurrency fundamentals and terminology
- Genuine understanding of the German market and audience. The candidate has not just language skills, but a feel for what resonates locally across crypto, finance, tech, and AI.
- Market awareness. Understands how crypto markets react to macroeconomic events, regulatory developments, and institutional announcements, including EU / German-specific regulatory context.
- Comfort working with analytics tools, like Google Analytics, Search Console, or similar, to track content and market performance.
- Attention to linguistic detail and cultural nuance for UI/localization review work.
- Ability to cover platforms and companies objectively, without marketing language or promotional framing.
- Daily production reliability. The candidate is capable of producing 3–4 high quality articles per day consistently and independently.
- News judgment and speed, with the ability to quickly identify trending developments and turn them into timely, structured coverage.
- SEO awareness for German-language keywords. The candidate understands how to naturally incorporate high-intent keywords without keyword stuffing or compromising readability
- Strong sourcing and verification skills, using primary sources such as official filings, press releases, public statements, regulatory documents, on-chain data, and verified social media posts.
- Non-promotional, neutral tone,
maintaining journalistic distance at all times; no hype, no calls to action, no affiliate language. - Understanding of regulatory sensitivity. The candidate is aware of legal and compliance considerations when covering financial markets and avoids misleading or exaggerated framing.
