Job Summary:

Fare Inspection Associates/Ambassadors will serve as the primary fare inspection team, conducting proof-of-payment inspections using friendly, customer service centric, non-aggressive engagement to support compliance and a positive rider experience.

Shift Details:

• 4:30am to 1:30pm
• 8:00am to 5:30pm
• 1:00pm to 10:00pm
• 5:00pm to 2:00am

Responsibilities to Include:

• Conduct proof-of-payment inspections (train platforms, transit centers, etc.).
• Use issued validation equipment to verify active fare media.
• When on the Blue Line, rotate between railcars and platforms to avoid repeated inspections of the same riders.
• Maintain clear, calm, non-confrontational communication during all inspection interactions.
• Document and provide reporting on inspection volumes, compliance rates, and fare-related issues
• Provide basic wayfinding and system information upon request.
• Assist with fare machines and mobile ticketing questions when appropriate.
• Direct riders to customer service resources as needed.
• Follow de-escalation and safety protocols provided during training.
• Immediately report escalated or unsafe situations to Security or Transit Police.

• One year of customer service experience preferred
• High school diploma or GED required
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have friendly, outgoing personality
• Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language in order to create basic reports.

Physical Abilities:

• Must have the physical capacity to walk and stand continuously during an eight hour shift, with normal breaks (two fifteen minutes, and one thirty minute meal break).
• Must be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.
