Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute mechanical system design for assigned project scopes, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
  • Develop detailed engineering plans, layouts, and specifications for HVAC and related building systems.
  • Perform engineering calculations, system sizing, and cost analyses to support design decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver coordinated and efficient project outcomes.
  • Review technical drawings, vendor submittals, and equipment selections for accuracy and compliance.
  • Create comprehensive technical documents, including evaluations such as long-term cost studies and infrastructure condition reviews.
  • Support proposal development and contribute technical input for new business opportunities.
  • Participate in field investigations, site visits, and data collection to inform design improvements.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline from an accredited program.
  • Approximately 6 to 9 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the built environment.
  • Fundamentals of Engineering certification required, with progress toward Professional Engineer licensure.
  • Strong proficiency with engineering design software and tools.
  • Experience with HVAC systems design, building systems, and construction documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
