Our Team
The Digital Lab (Fusion Team) is a business-embedded team within Global Product Development & Supply (GPS). We sit inside the business — not IT — and our job is to rapidly translate operational challenges into working prototypes, analytical applications, and AI-powered tools. We work shoulder-to-shoulder with manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and product development stakeholders to accelerate data-driven decision-making.
Position Summary:
The Systems Analyst is the bridge between business stakeholders and the prototyping team. Your job is to take business problems, understand them deeply, and break them down into clear, well-structured technical stories that the engineers, data scientists, and data product engineers can act on.
Key Responsibilities:
Requirements Gathering & Decomposition
* Engage with business stakeholders to understand operational problems, workflows, and needs.
* Break down business requirements into clear, actionable user stories with well-defined acceptance criteria.
* Document current-state workflows and identify where digital solutions, AI tools, or prototypes can add value.
* Ask the right questions — dig past surface-level requests to understand the real problem being solved.
Backlog Management & Sprint Support
* Own and maintain the team's product backlog — prioritized, groomed, and ready for sprint planning.
* Participate in Agile ceremonies — sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, retrospectives.
* Ensure stories are estimated, sequenced, and unblocked before they enter a sprint.
* Track progress and flag risks or dependencies early.
Technical Translation
* Translate business language into technical requirements that engineers and data teams can understand.
* Understand the team's technical landscape well enough to write stories that reference the right systems, data sources, and integration points.
* Work with Data Products Engineers, Data Scientists, and Software Engineers to refine stories and clarify scope.
* Know enough about APIs, data pipelines, and front-end applications to have informed conversations — you don't need to build, but you need to understand how things connect.
Stakeholder Communication
* Keep stakeholders informed on progress, timelines, and trade-offs.
* Facilitate demos and feedback sessions — make sure what the team builds gets validated by the people who asked for it.
* Manage expectations — help stakeholders understand what's feasible within a prototyping sprint vs. what requires a longer investment.
Qualifications / Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Experience & Skills Required
* 2–5 years of experience as a Systems Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a similar requirements-focused role.
* Strong ability to write clear user stories with actionable acceptance criteria.
* Solid understanding of Agile methodologies — Scrum or Kanban — and hands-on experience working in sprints.
* Proficiency with work management tools — JIRA, Azure DevOps, or similar.
* Ability to understand technical systems at a functional level — APIs, databases, data pipelines, web applications — without needing to build them.
* Strong communication skills — you can run a requirements session, facilitate a discussion, and write clearly.
* Organized and detail-oriented — you keep the backlog clean and stories well-documented.
* Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment where priorities shift and speed matters.
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
* Experience in pharma, life sciences, or manufacturing environments.
* Familiarity with data and AI/ML concepts — understanding what a model needs to be useful, even if you don't build models yourself.
* Experience working in innovation labs, prototyping teams, or startup-like environments.
* Familiarity with GPS/PDS domain systems — SAP, MES, LIMS, planning tools.
* Experience with Confluence or similar documentation platforms.
If you come across a role that intrigues you but doesn’t perfectly line up with your resume, we encourage you to apply anyway. You could be one step away from work that will transform your life and career.
