Boeing Commercial Airplanes is excited to offer opportunities for an Environmental Control Technician A to join our Materials Management & Tooling team in Moses Lake, Washington.
As an Environmental Control Technician A, you will manage hazardous-materials and hazardous-waste operations to ensure regulatory compliance, worker safety, and environmental protection. This role oversees ordering, receiving, storage, dispensing, and inventory control of chemicals, and prepares required regulatory records and manifests. The technician sorts, samples, classifies, labels, and containerizes waste for proper disposal, operates containment and cleanup equipment, and responds to spill events using appropriate PPE and vehicles/equipment. They also perform preventive maintenance on environmental systems, coordinate with environmental engineers and shop personnel, provide chemical information and training (SDS/Hazard Communication), support process improvements, and maintain required certifications.

Perform physical tasks that include lifting weights ranging from 10-15 lbs. to 15-35 lbs.

Engage in various movements such as reaching, handling, turning, twisting, lifting, lowering, climbing, balancing, bending, kneeling, crouching, and squatting.

Work in environments that may involve contact with metals, solvents, and coolants.

Operate in proximity to moving parts and tools, sharp cutters, and potential slipping hazards.

Adapt to varying noise levels and atmospheric conditions.

Utilize personal safety gear to protect face/eyes, hands/arms, and feet while performing job duties.
Requirements
~1 min read4+ years of experience handling chemicals and/or hazardous material.
Experience operating a forklift and electric pallet jacks.
Experience working with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Currently possess a valid driver’s license.
Currently hold or ability to obtain a forklift license.
3+ years of experience with the stat e of Washington regulatory requirements, EPA requirements and have the acquired Washington Department of Health water distribution operator certification and treatment operator certification.
1+ years of experiencing executing data entry, retrieval and inventory management.
Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions, including extreme cold, heat, rain, snow and wind.
High school graduate or GED preferred.
