Core Duties
The Custodian I position keeps Bonneville County facilities clean, safe, and ready for daily public and employee use. This full-time, onsite role supports reliable building operations through routine cleaning and general facility support. Key responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining floors and carpets (stripping/refinishing, extraction), using power buffers and auto scrubbers, handling and mixing cleaning chemicals safely, tracking custodial supply inventory, performing basic security checks (doors/locks), assisting with setups/moves for meetings or deliveries, helping with seasonal tasks such as snow removal or minor grounds care and performing other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
1. Education and Experience
A. Sufficient education and training to demonstrate an aptitude or ability to perform above and related duties;
AND
B. Eighteen months (18 mo.) of experience performing above or related duties;
OR
C. An equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Working knowledge of custodial methods, tools, and materials Experience with floor care equipment and carpet extraction machines Ability to do heavy lifting, such as may be required to lift in excess of 50 pounds in normal course of job performance, and moderate physical work; strong attention to detail Ability to follow written and oral instructions; team-oriented communication
3. Special Qualifications
- Must process a valid Idaho driver's license
- Must be available for 24-hour emergency call-outs
- Must a able to pass drug/alcohol screening, background check, and polygraph examination
