The Manufacturing Engineer I provides engineering support to the Production team at the Quincy, Massachusetts, site, which manages medical device kitting, rework and postponement activities. This role will support the global Astria final packaging and labeling process transfer to Quincy, including new product introduction and process implementation activities. Working closely with cross-functional partners, the engineer will help establish, validate and sustain manufacturing processes while supporting operational excellence and product quality.
Work model, sponsorship, relocation:
This is a full-time on-site position based in Quincy, MA. Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time. Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.
Your responsibilities will include:
● Support manufacturing engineering activities for the Astria initiative, including new product introduction and process implementation within Quincy Production.
● Partner with the MES Modeler to help align manufacturing processes with system requirements and participate in model testing activities.
● Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project status and key updates.
● Support change control activities by ensuring process changes are documented and reviewed in accordance with quality system requirements.
● Provide on-site support during product launches, process transfers and sustaining activities, including troubleshooting and root cause investigations.
● Assist with value improvement initiatives focused on process efficiency, quality, error reduction and operational performance.
● Collaborate with operators, technicians and engineers to support training, knowledge transfer and process improvements.
● Participate in project teams and contribute to meeting project goals, deliverables and timelines.
Qualifications:
Required qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
● Minimum of 1 year experience in a manufacturing, engineering, internship or co-op environment.
● Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
● Strong problem-solving, communication and organizational skills.
● Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred qualifications:
● Experience supporting manufacturing process development, implementation or continuous improvement initiatives.
● Knowledge of process verification and validation concepts.
● Experience with MES, SAP, Windchill, BAM or warehouse management systems.
● Experience in a regulated industry, such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals or biotechnology.
