Powerhouse Engineering Technician

Bridgestone and its subsidiaries develop, manufacture and market a wide range of Bridgestone, Firestone and associate brand products and solutions to address the needs of a broad range of customers and industries.

• →Observes meters and gauges to determine operating conditions of equipment and makes adjustments or repairs as necessary to insure efficient performance.
• →Keeps clerical records such as temperatures of equipment, hours of operation, fuel consumed, temperature and analysis of flue gases. 
• →Operates, maintains and observes prescribed safety regulations pertaining to the use and care of the boilers and equipment.  
• →Performs startup and shutdown of plant systems.  
• →Makes inspection rounds, repairs pumps in place, including coupling, un-coupling and pump/motor alignment.
• →Repairs valves and replaces piping and gaskets on Main Utility Piping as required.  
• →Will maintain all service equipment as required or assigned.
• →Take chemical samples, run chemical tests, and services all steam and water chemical treatment systems in the powerhouse and the plant.

Performs all work where required by management through various policies and procedures to maintain Plant Safety, Environmental, and Quality Standards.

Typically requires a high school degree; or 1-2 year vocational training / associates degree
