Job Title: Quality Control Supervisor Location: Nairobi, Kenya Department: Operations / Production Reports To: Operations Manager Employment Type: Full-Time Job Overview Our client is a growing packaging manufacturer specializing in corrugated and customized packaging solutions. They are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Quality Control Supervisor to oversee quality inspection activities across the production process and ensure that finished products consistently meet approved specifications and customer requirements. The role will involve monitoring raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products, identifying defects, reducing rejects and rework, maintaining quality records, and working closely with Production and Operations teams to resolve quality issues. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in quality control within corrugated packaging, carton manufacturing, paper converting, printing, or a related manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day quality control activities across the production floor. Inspect incoming raw materials and verify that they meet approved specifications. Conduct quality checks at different stages of the production process. Inspect finished cartons and packaging products before dispatch. Verify product dimensions, board specifications, printing, cutting, folding, gluing, stitching, and finishing against approved specifications. Monitor product quality and identify defects, non-conformities, rejects, and rework. Ensure non-conforming products are properly identified, segregated, and reported. Work closely with Production Supervisors to identify and address quality issues at source. Investigate recurring defects and conduct root-cause analysis. Recommend and follow up on corrective and preventive actions. Monitor production wastage and rework arising from quality issues. Investigate customer complaints and support the implementation of appropriate corrective actions. Maintain accurate quality inspection records, checklists, reports, and documentation. Prepare regular quality reports covering defects, rejects, rework, customer complaints, and corrective actions. Supervise, allocate duties to, and support the development of Quality Control Inspectors. Train production and quality teams on product specifications, inspection procedures, and quality requirements. Ensure quality control procedures are consistently followed across production processes. Work with Operations and Production teams to identify opportunities for continuous quality improvement. Ensure compliance with applicable quality, safety, and production standards. Requirements Requirements & Qualifications Diploma or degree in Quality Management, Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. 5 years of experience in Quality Control within a manufacturing environment. At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory quality control role. Experience in corrugated packaging, carton manufacturing, paper converting, printing, or a related industry is highly preferred. Practical understanding of manufacturing quality control and inspection processes. Experience in root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and quality documentation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Strong written and verbal English communication skills. Key Competencies Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
