Role Purpose
To coordinate the secure, compliant, and efficient delivery of exams and related operations within a country or location, ensuring all test-day and post-test activities meet British Council, awarding body, and regulatory standards. The role oversees venue and equipment readiness, delivery partner management, and workforce coordination, while working closely with Planning & Registration, Workforce Resourcing, Venues, and Customer Management teams to align capacity, optimise costs, fulfil customer commitments, and deliver a high-quality candidate experience.
Main Accountabilities
The role is responsible for coordinating all aspects of secure, compliant, and high-quality test-day and post-test delivery, ensuring adherence to global procedures, security standards, and regulatory requirements. This includes overseeing venue and equipment readiness, managing confidential exam materials, coordinating delivery partners and suppliers, supporting workforce deployment, and leading operational readiness activities, risk assessments, incident management, and business continuity plans. The postholder acts as the primary operational contact for venues, delivery partners, and test-day teams, working closely with Planning & Registration and Workforce Resourcing teams to ensure operational readiness and effective service delivery.
The role also ensures compliance with safeguarding, exam security, health and safety, and data privacy requirements, maintaining audit-ready records, risk registers, and contingency plans. It manages stakeholder relationships, customer communications, and delivery partner performance to ensure a consistent and positive candidate experience, while addressing operational issues and driving continuous improvement. In addition, the postholder oversees delivery budgets, contracts, supplier performance, and resource utilisation, provides operational performance data to support planning and decision-making, and leads and develops delivery staff and test-day teams, fostering a culture of accountability, security, and excellence.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential
* Experience coordinating secure, regulated service delivery (e.g. exams, logistics, events).
* Proven ability to manage venues, equipment, and logistics to strict security and quality standards.
* Experience supervising staff or contractors.
* Financial accountability and cost optimisation.
* Good understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in education and assessment services.
* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
* English Language Skills: Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required, as British Council systems, processes, and stakeholder interactions are conducted in English.
Desirable
* Experience working with awarding bodies or educational assessment services.
* Good understanding of compliance, confidentiality, and audit requirements
* Lean Six Sigma qualification.
