Role Purpose Contributes to delivery of the country Education portfolio including British Council global programmes - student mobility, tertiary education partnerships, and client-funded programmes. Ensures high quality delivery of projects and programmes from start to finish including managing the contract or project plan, managing external or internal stakeholders, successfully achieving reporting and meeting compliance standards. Role Accountabilities Relationship & Stakeholder Management * Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, suppliers, and stakeholders across the education sector. * Manage delivery partners and service providers, ensuring quality outcomes and contractual compliance. * Develop effective internal and external networks that support programme success. Commercial & Financial Management * Support financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting activities. * Monitor project expenditure, commitments, purchase orders, and financial performance against plan. * Ensure accurate financial records and compliance with organisational policies and procedures. * Lead programme and client reporting, ensuring submissions are timely, accurate, and high quality. * Work closely with finance and programme teams to identify variances and implement corrective actions. Project Management * Contribute to the development and delivery of project management plans. * Identify project risks and support the implementation of mitigation strategies. * Manage procurement, contracting, compliance, and reporting requirements. * Oversee data management processes, ensuring accurate data collection, analysis, and reporting. * Coordinate grant management activities and ensure high-quality reporting from consultants, partners, and grant recipients. * Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning activities to demonstrate programme impact. Business Development * Support the development of competitive proposals and funding applications. * Ensure Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) principles are embedded within programme design and proposals. * Work with business support teams to develop accurate project budgets and costings. * Ensure timely communication and reporting for externally funded programmes and grants. Knowledge and Experience Education: Essential/Minimum: Degree and/or equivalent experience Professional Qualification and Certification Project management or equivalent qualification or equivalent work experience Experience Essentials: * Experience of managing projects from start to finish and familiarity with project life-cycles. * Understanding of procurement, evaluation and reporting requirements of projects. * Proven experience of managing project finances. * Experience of managing stakeholders * Project management qualification desirable. * More than 2 years working in project or programme management. * Experience of using technology n project delivery. * Good understanding and experience of supporting monitoring and evaluation Desirable * Experience and understanding of tertiary education sector * Project management qualification Important Information * Language requirements: The British Council systems and global processes operate in English. Written and verbal proficiency in English is required. * Pay Band: Grade 6 * Department: Cultural Engagement * Contract type: FTC * Working location: Egypt * Proof of Identity requirements/right to work in country: Candidates should ensure they have the pre-existing legal right to live and work in the country where the role is based.
