The Role: Leads the in-country delivery and growth of Alumni UK and international student mobility initiatives through alumni engagement, stakeholder relationship management, community building, event delivery, and impact reporting, strengthening connections to UK education, enhancing international mobility opportunities, and fostering long-term partnerships across the local education ecosystem. Accountabilities: Programme delivery and stakeholder engagement * Support delivery of Alumni UK, Study UK, and international student mobility initiatives, building strong relationships with alumni, universities, education agents, counsellors, employers, and other key stakeholders to enhance engagement and collaboration. * Strengthen alumni and professional networks by developing communities, promoting participation, identifying engagement opportunities, and showcasing impact through alumni stories, ambassador activities, and UK education success narratives. Communications and audience engagement * Support communications and engagement activities across Alumni UK, Study UK, and ISMM by coordinating campaigns, digital platforms, stakeholder communications, and audience outreach aligned with global engagement strategies. * Enhance programme visibility and participation through targeted storytelling, event promotion, alumni impact narratives, and collaboration with marketing teams to drive engagement, retention, and growth across key audiences. Programme and event delivery * Design and deliver engaging events, webinars, networking, and professional development initiatives to strengthen stakeholder participation and connections with UK education opportunities. * Coordinate inclusive, high-quality engagement activities with stakeholders, leveraging insights and feedback to enhance programme design, participant experience, and strategic outcomes. Brand and positioning * Supports the British Council’s reputation and visibility by promoting Alumni UK, Study UK, and ISMM initiatives, strengthening engagement and positioning the UK as a preferred international study destination. Equality, Diversity and Inclusion * Promotes an inclusive, anti-racist culture by fostering equity, well-being, and belonging, while actively addressing personal biases and supporting diverse teams. * Champions EDI best practices across programmes, strengthening gender equality, disability inclusion, social inclusion, and continuous learning in diversity and anti-racism. Line management * Leads, coaches, and mentors project managers, driving performance excellence and supporting professional development. Role specific knowledge and experience: Essential: * In-depth understanding of education, international education or alumni engagement environments. * Experience supporting stakeholder engagement, partnerships or community engagement activity. * Experience coordinating events, communications or programme delivery activity. * Experience working with digital engagement systems, CRM platforms or audience databases. * Strong organisational and project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities. * Experience supporting audience engagement, communications or community-building initiatives. * Experience working collaboratively across teams and with external stakeholders. * Strong written and verbal communication skills. * Experience supporting monitoring, reporting or insight collection activity. * Understanding of data protection, consent management and responsible data handling principles. * Ability to work effectively in international or multicultural environments. Desirable: * Experience supporting alumni engagement, higher education or international mobility activity. * Experience supporting delivery of online or hybrid engagement events. * Understanding of audience segmentation and digital engagement approaches. * Ability to identify equality, accessibility or inclusion considerations within engagement activity and support appropriate responses. * Experience contributing to storytelling, ambassador engagement or audience participation initiatives.
