Commercial Estimator

Location: Rochester, NY | Pay: $60,000–$70,000/year | Full-Time

• →Review architectural blueprints and specs to calculate material needs (stone, solid surface, laminate)
• →Perform accurate take-offs and generate cost estimates for materials, labor, fabrication, and delivery
• →Prepare detailed bid proposals and submit on time
• →Follow up on open bids and stay proactive with customer communication
• →Assist with forecasting and revenue pipeline tracking
• →Solicit vendor pricing and evaluate subcontractor quotes
• →Identify risks such as layout constraints or potential material waste
• →Conduct occasional site visits to confirm measurements or physical conditions

• 2–5 years of experience in construction estimating, millwork, or related trades
• Proficiency with estimating tools (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, On-Screen Takeoff, 2020 Design)
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools
• Ability to interpret blueprints, finish schedules, and unit matrices
• Knowledge of commercial countertop materials and fabrication methods
• Clear, professional communication with clients, vendors, and internal teams
• A proactive mindset and excellent attention to detail

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Familiarity with AWI standards and general commercial construction practices
