Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business Management, Metallurgy, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Exposure to draughting or CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the mining, steel fabrication, construction, and related industries to expand the groups footprint.
- Focus on growth opportunities within major Mining Houses in Rustenburg, Limpopo, Mpumalanga, Northern Cape, and Welkom.
- Promote and sell the groups value-added capabilities and metal processing services (laser cut-to-size, profiling, drilling, bending).
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with mines in the SADC region, Copper Belt, and East Africa to strengthen export and project pipelines.
- Build partnerships with key Mining Houses based in Johannesburg with export operations in Ghana and Papua New Guinea.
- Offer value-added solutions for Q&T products through in-house processing facilities, ensuring alignment with client-specific project needs.
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure the business has the resources, expertise, and infrastructure to competitively bid for and deliver project-specific solutions.
- Advise clients on material selection, wear solutions, and fabrication options based on engineering and application requirements.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to accurately assess client needs and prepare tailored solutions.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and delivery terms in line with company policies and profitability targets.
- Communicate relevant market intelligence and competitor activity to leadership, enabling proactive strategic decisions.
- Drive initiatives aimed at retaining and growing market share in targeted new markets and emerging segments.
- Regularly visit branches to support development of Q&T products, branding, and local growth initiatives.
- Year-on-year increase in sales volumes, gross profit, and tonnage for hard wearing plate and QnT products.
- Successful penetration of new mining and industrial markets within the SADC and East African regions.
- Growth in value-added sales through the groups processing capabilities.
- Customer retention and satisfaction measured through repeat business and feedback scores.
- Achievement of strategic partnerships and supply agreements with major mining houses and fabricators.
- Effective collaboration with internal teams and alignment with the groups broader business strategy.
