About the Role
We're looking for a Full-Stack Software Engineer with a front-end focus to join our client's growing engineering team.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who is comfortable working across the stack and taking ownership of features from start to finish. While the role has a strong front-end focus, we're looking for someone who is comfortable contributing beyond the UI and working across backend services, integrations, and supporting systems.

You'll work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering to turn requirements and ideas into reliable, high-quality software. You'll have the opportunity to contribute not only to how features work, but also to how they look, feel, and work for the end user.

This role is well suited to an engineer who combines strong technical skills with product thinking, design awareness, and good judgement.

Key Responsibilities
Full-Stack Software Development

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software across the front-end and backend.
• Own features end to end, from understanding requirements and planning through development, testing, deployment, and refinement.
• Build reliable, maintainable, and performant software.
• Contribute to backend services, APIs, integrations, and supporting systems.
• Work closely with Product and Design to translate requirements and concepts into high-quality technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across the application stack.
• Contribute to improving the reliability, performance, and maintainability of existing systems.

Front-End Development & Product Experience

• Build polished, intuitive, and responsive user experiences.
• Translate UX/UI concepts and mockups into production-ready features.
• Apply strong product and design judgement rather than simply implementing designs pixel for pixel.
• Identify opportunities to improve usability, clarity, consistency, and the overall user experience.
• Make thoughtful improvements while respecting agreed requirements, scope, timelines, and other fixed constraints.
• Balance technical quality, user experience, and practical delivery requirements.

Backend & Systems Development

• Develop and maintain backend services and supporting systems.
• Build and maintain APIs, integrations, scheduled processes, and other technical components as required.
• Ensure software is robust, performant, scalable, and maintainable.
• Contribute to reliable deployment processes and cloud-based infrastructure.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues across the application stack.
• Support ongoing improvements to existing systems, processes, and technical workflows.

Product Delivery & Prioritisation

• Work with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders to understand priorities and deliver against requirements.
• Prioritise critical functionality and ensure key requirements are delivered first.
• Recognise when additional polish or enhancements can be addressed after core functionality is delivered.
• Flag blockers, risks, dependencies, and potential delivery issues early.
• Communicate proactively about progress, challenges, and anything that may affect delivery.
• Take ownership of assigned features and see them through to completion.
• Make practical decisions that balance product quality, technical considerations, and delivery requirements.

Team Collaboration

• Participate in planning sessions, code reviews, technical discussions, and other engineering activities.
• Collaborate closely with Product and Design to ensure technical solutions meet both functional and user experience requirements.
• Share ideas and propose technical improvements to existing systems and workflows.
• Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and accountable engineering environment.
• Be responsive, reliable, and easy for teammates to work with.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members and stakeholders.

Other Responsibilities

• Make necessary process suggestions and improvements which can help the team.

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Perform other related tasks and duties that may be assigned by the client later on.

About You
We're looking for an engineer who combines strong technical capability with product thinking, design awareness, ownership, and good judgement.

Essential Experience & Skills

• 2–4 years of professional Software Engineer experience.
• Strong full-stack development experience with a front-end leaning.
• Solid background in software development and system design.
• Experience building and shipping modern web applications.
• Experience working across both front-end and backend systems.
• Experience working with modern programming languages, cloud infrastructure, and deployment environments.
• Experience working closely with Product and Design teams to bring requirements and product ideas to life.
• Strong understanding of modern front-end development practices.
• Strong attention to detail while maintaining awareness of priorities and delivery requirements.
• Ability to own features end to end and work independently.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to identify and communicate blockers early.

Product & Design Mindset
What sets the right person apart is a strong product and design eye. You should be able to take a mockup and make it noticeably better instead of copying it pixel for pixel, while still treating copy, legal, scope and deadlines as fixed.

You should understand how to prioritise delivery effectively — shipping what's critical for go-live first and polishing later where appropriate.

You should also be proactive in your communication: flag blockers early and be easy to reach when collaboration or decisions are needed.
