You’ll also own market insight for the region, identifying customer needs, competitor activity, regulatory changes and emerging payment trends, and turning those insights into meaningful product opportunities.

Mandarin and English fluency is essential, as you’ll lead detailed product conversations with Mandarin-speaking clients and partners.
This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of product, payments and commercial growth.

If you’re comfortable navigating ambiguity, moving quickly and working across teams and time zones, this could be the role for you.

What you’ll do as a a Director of Product Management

  • Support commercial opportunities through solution shaping, product discovery sessions, RFPs, due diligence responses and product Q&A.
  • Represent Product directly in Mandarin-language conversations with clients, partners, prospects and regulators where required.
  • Lead or support product discussions, demonstrations and workshops in Mandarin, ensuring key insights are captured and shared with the wider organisation.
  • Build strong relationships with Product teams across the business and act as a bridge between regional teams and the global Product organisation.
  • Own APAC market insight, maintaining a clear view of competitor activity, customer demand, scheme and regulatory changes, and emerging payment behaviours.
  • Translate market and customer insight into clear roadmap recommendations and identify opportunities for new products and enhancements.
  • Define and scope product enhancements and drive execution of market-critical updates across product domains.
  • Make pragmatic prioritisation decisions across product areas and own the associated trade-offs.
  • Own pricing and go-to-market strategy for new features and services in the APAC market.
  • Equip commercial teams with product positioning, differentiation and go-to-market content.
  • Where useful, create workable prototypes to support rapid proof-of-concept development.

  • Professional fluency in both Mandarin and English, with the ability to lead detailed technical and commercial product discussions in both languages.
  • Strong analytical judgement and the ability to form and defend a point of view in an ambiguous market with incomplete information.
  • The ability to work independently in a regional role while staying closely aligned with a global Product organisation.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bring together Product, Engineering, Commercial and regional teams.
It would be great if you also have,
  • Experience across the APAC payments landscape, including regional schemes, regulatory requirements and licensing considerations.
  • Exposure to AI or agentic technologies, particularly where they intersect with payments, authentication or transaction authorisation.
  • A background spanning Engineering and Product, or experience translating effectively between the two.
  • Experience representing a Product organisation in a market where the company has limited local presence.
