We are looking for a Purchaser to join the procurement team of a large-scale, technically complex infrastructure project in the Antwerp region. In this role, you will contribute to one of the most impactful civil works projects currently underway in Belgium, supporting both tender and execution phases.

You will act as a key link between project teams, designers, and the market, ensuring a professional, timely, and cost-efficient purchasing process in line with project requirements.
  • As Purchaser, you play a central role in managing procurement activities within a defined scope of the project.
  • Independently manage purchasing activities for an assigned sub-area of the project.
  • Support and, where applicable, coordinate a small purchasing team.
  • Handle the full procurement cycle: purchasing strategy, tendering, negotiations, and contract preparation.
  • Advise project teams on all procurement-related matters.
  • Work closely with designers, work preparers, finance teams, legal advisors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Analyse the market and provide insights on trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Conduct discussions with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Prepare tender documents based on technical input from the project teams.
  • Compare offers from a technical and financial perspective.
  • Organise clarification meetings and conduct independent negotiations with suppliers.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience as a buyer or purchaser within civil construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Solid understanding of the Belgian construction market.
  • Sufficient technical background to manage a broad range of construction-related purchases.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
  • Customer-oriented: Understands and responds to the needs of both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proactive & hands-on: Takes initiative, identifies opportunities, and follows through.
  • Strong communicator: Clear, assertive, and professional in interactions with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Team player: Collaborates effectively across disciplines to achieve shared goals.
  • Analytical & structured: Able to prioritise, meet deadlines, and work independently.
  • Curious, detail-oriented, and results-driven.
  • A key role on a landmark infrastructure project with long-term impact.
  • Exposure to complex procurement challenges in a multidisciplinary project environment.
  • Close collaboration with experienced technical and project teams.
