Under the general direction of the Office Administrator and the direct supervision of the Victims Unit Coordinator, performs supporting tasks for victims of crime, including serving as a liaison between victims and the Prosecutor’s Office, explaining court procedures to victims, and assisting victims activating their rights.

Responsibilities

  1. Connects with victims of crimes and explains court procedures and processes, Crime Victim Rights, and victim compensation. Notifies victims of court hearings.
  2. Serve as a liaison between the Prosecutor’s Office and crime victims. Assists prosecutor’s in court as needed.
  3. Organizes and coordinates victim and/or witnesses escorts as needed. Prepares victims for court hearings.
  4. Provides juvenile rights as required by law.
  5. Assists victims in obtaining Community Resources, counseling, and other services, as needed.
  6. Assists in leading and/or participating in Victim Rights Groups and/or Organizations.
  7. Disseminates victim rights flyers, brochures, pamphlets, etc. to police agencies for distribution.
  8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in a related field or area or combination of education and experience commensurate with the requirements of this position.
  • One year of experience in the Criminal Justice, or related field.
  • Computer skills necessary to effectively utilize word processing, database, and spreadsheet software systems.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with County personnel and the public in situations requiring tact and patience.
  • The ability to handle simultaneous activities that require concentration and attention to detail.

Work Classification: 100% On-Site Required
Flexibility Classification: Fixed Schedule

  • Largely sedentary role.
  • Frequent work with the public.
  • Extended work hours (beyond 8 hours a day) are occasionally required.
  • Traveling (within the county) may be required, for short periods of time.

 

Wage Range
$21.32$27.24 USD
