About the role
 
Calvary Riverina has the exciting opportunity for a Nurse Unit Manager (Level 2) to join our clinical leadership team as manager of our combined palliative care and rehabilitation ward, including our outpatient rehabilitation service.  This is a full time position working across business hours Monday to Friday.   
 
Your main duties will include:
  • Clinical leadership and patient care oversight, ensuring safe, high quality nursing care while setting clinical standards and supervising nursing practice 
  • Staff management and workforce planning including rostering, recruitment, performance management, education and ensuring appropriate skill mix 
  • Management of ward flow (admissions, discharges, bed allocation), oversight of resources and budgets, and drive quality improvement, compliance and patient safety initiatives
About you
  • Relevant tertiary nursing qualifications
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Current Working with Children Check
  • A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in public and/or private acute healthcare sector
  • Proven experience as senior clinical leader level including leadership of diverse interdisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality improvements and accreditation standards
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary rehabilitation practice and programs and/or palliative care is desirable
  • Proven experience managing key performance indicators within budget
  • Experience in change management, facilitating a positive workplace culture and workforce engagement
