Join Calvary Adelaide Hospital (CAH) and be part of South Australia’s largest private Operating Theatre suite, with exciting opportunities for experienced Cardiothoracic, Neurosurgical, ENT and Robotic Theatre Registered Nurses to join our high-performing multidisciplinary team.

Our Theatre department provides exposure to a complex and diverse surgical caseload, with a strong focus on Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery and ENT, alongside a growing robotic surgery program.

CAH currently performs robotic procedures across areas including General Surgery, Urology and Thoracic Surgery, with our robotic capabilities continuing to expand, including plans to introduce cardiac robotics in the future. This provides an exciting opportunity for nurses looking to develop their skills in advanced surgical technologies and be part of a service that continues to grow.

At CAH, our modern and purpose-built facility features:

• 23 procedure rooms across two levels, including 16 general operating theatres, 2 interventional cardiology labs, 1 hybrid theatre and 4 procedure rooms
• The largest private OT suite in South Australia, providing exposure to advanced surgical procedures and complex patient care
• A diverse and evolving surgical caseload including Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, ENT, Robotic Surgery, General Surgery, Urology and Thoracic Surgery, alongside Orthopaedics, Plastics and Ophthalmology
• Opportunities to work within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team across a range of complex and specialised surgical services
• Access to an evolving robotic surgery program, with opportunities to develop and expand your skills as the service grows

We are particularly interested in hearing from Registered Nurses with experience in Cardiothoracic, Thoracic, Neurosurgery and/or ENT, as well as nurses with an interest or experience in robotic surgery.

You may have experience across:

• Cardiothoracic surgery
• Thoracic surgery
• Neurosurgery
• ENT surgery
• Robotic surgery, including General Surgery, Urology and Thoracic Surgery
• Complex and high-acuity surgical procedures
• Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetics or PACU
• Specialist perioperative nursing

With the continued expansion of our robotic program, including future cardiac robotic procedures, this is an opportunity to be part of an evolving service and further develop your specialist perioperative skills.

Our dedicated Theatre staff work across a 7-day rotating roster, with on-call requirements. You’ll be supported through a comprehensive orientation program, ongoing clinical education and opportunities to further develop your specialist skills.

Clinical Nurse opportunities will be considered for the right candidates with relevant specialist perioperative experience, demonstrated clinical leadership and a strong commitment to supporting high-quality patient care.

• Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Previous perioperative nursing experience, ideally within Cardiothoracic, Thoracic, Neurosurgery, ENT and/or Robotic Surgery
• Experience in Scrub/Scout, Anaesthetics or PACU
• A commitment to delivering high-quality, safe and person-centred care
• Strong teamwork, communication and clinical problem-solving skills
• The ability to work confidently in a fast-paced and complex surgical environment
• An interest in developing skills across specialist and emerging surgical technologies
• Willingness to participate in rotating rosters and on-call requirements

• As part of the application process, you will be required to complete pre-employment checks which may include, but are not limited to, reference checks, work rights, criminal history checks, NDIS/WWCC/WWVP checks and a health evaluation to ensure suitability for the role.
• You will be required to provide evidence of immunisation as required for your role, including COVID-19, influenza, tuberculosis screening, hepatitis, diphtheria, tetanus and varicella.
