The Communications and Electronics Repair Technician is located in Meaford at the Army Training Centre - Central and typically reports directly to the Communications Repair Supervisor. The primary focus of this role is to perform the duties of a Communications and Electronics Repair Technician, leveraging experience in communications systems and electronic equipment repair, with a strong specialization in radio frequency (RF) communications equipment.

Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Perform corrective, preventative and modification maintenance on all communications and electronic equipment assigned for repair
- →Look up and order repair parts;
- →Keep workspaces and general areas clean, orderly and hazard free
- →Operate and service trade specific and common hand and power tools
- →Perform any other duties as requested by the Supervisor or those that may be required to assist other sections or departments.

- High School Diploma
- DND LCIS QL5 or a College Technician diploma in Electronic or Computer Maintenance (08B9)
The following certifications/designations are considered an asset
- Knowledge of DND policies and procedures is an additional asset
- G Driver License
- Clean driving record
Proficient knowledge and understanding of:
- Know the correct use, maintenance and safety procedures of the hand tools and powered equipment related to this type of work while applying that knowledge
- Organization and time management
- Excellent oral and written communications skills (English)
Individuals who successfully complete the interview process and do not already hold a valid security clearance will be sponsored for Secret Security Clearance. To obtain a Secret Security Clearance from the Government of Canada, applicants must undergo a comprehensive 10-year background check. This includes financial and criminal record checks, as well as a security assessment conducted by the Canadian Security Intelligence Service (CSIS). Applicants will be required to provide detailed information covering the past 10 years, including employment, education, and residency history. For this reason, continuous residency in Canada for the last 10 years is a mandatory requirement.
