Who You Are:
The Manager, Social Commerce is responsible for building, operating, and growing Michael Kors’ emerging social commerce and marketplace channels. This role owns the end-to-end commercial performance of TikTok Shop, marketplace channels, and user-generated content (UGC) strategy — with the expectation that the portfolio will expand as new social commerce opportunities emerge. This is a builder’s role. The right person brings an entrepreneurial mindset and a true owner-operator mentality — someone who can stand up new channels from the ground up, define the playbook, and drive performance across platforms with very different business models and customer dynamics. They must balance brand integrity with commercial agility, moving quickly in fast-evolving environments while ensuring every touchpoint reflects Michael Kors’ brand standards. A passionate advocate for the customer, this person makes decisions by synthesizing multiple inputs — platform analytics, customer data, content performance, and competitive intelligence — to continuously optimize the social commerce experience. They will partner closely with Merchandising, Buying & Planning, Marketing, Creative, Social Media, CRM, Site Merchandising, Product Management, Technology, and Operations to activate and scale these channels.
What You’ll Do:
- Serve as the owner-operator of Michael Kors’ social commerce portfolio, with direct accountability for revenue, traffic, conversion, and customer growth across TikTok Shop, marketplace channels, and UGC.
- Develop and execute the commercial strategy for each channel, setting clear goals and translating them into actionable plans that drive measurable results.
- Monitor performance across all channels on a daily and weekly basis, identifying opportunities and risks and driving swift action to improve results.
- Build the business case for new social commerce opportunities as the landscape evolves, and lead the activation of new channels and partnerships.
- Provide regular performance recaps and strategic recommendations to leadership.
- Own the TikTok Shop storefront strategy, including product assortment, navigation, content-to-commerce integration, and promotional planning.
- Partner with Social Media, Marketing, and Creative to align shop content with broader brand campaigns, trends, and cultural moments.
- Manage product eligibility, catalog operations, and cross-regional alignment to ensure a complete and compelling shop experience.
- Partner with merchants on product strategies, ensuring the TikTok Shop assortment reflects commercial priorities, trend opportunities, and customer demand.
- Oversee the development of product briefs for all TikTok Shop live events, ensuring content is on-brand, commercially focused, and aligned with the broader marketing calendar.
- Stay ahead of platform updates, algorithm changes, and emerging best practices to maintain competitive positioning.
- Own the commercial strategy for marketplace channels, including product assortment, pricing, and promotional planning.
- Partner with Buying & Planning and Merchandising to ensure product availability and inventory alignment for each platform.
- Monitor channel performance and customer dynamics, adapting strategy to maximize sell-through and customer acquisition.
- Own the UGC strategy across relevant platforms, driving ratings, reviews, and customer-generated content that strengthens product credibility and conversion.
- Develop and manage programs to increase review volume and quality, including post-purchase campaigns, sampling programs, and syndication strategy.
- Partner with Site Merchandising and Product Management to ensure UGC is surfaced effectively across the site experience to drive engagement and conversion.
- Monitor customer sentiment and voice-of-the-customer signals to surface insights for the broader organization.
- Serve as the social commerce point of contact across Merchandising, Buying & Planning, Marketing, Creative, Social Media, CRM, Site Merchandising, Product Management, Technology, and Operations.
- Align cross-functional partners around channel priorities, product launches, campaigns, and promotional moments.
- Build strong relationships across a matrixed organization, effectively influencing peers and stakeholders to drive alignment and execution.
- Bring a test-and-learn orientation to every channel, running experiments across content, assortment, merchandising, and promotional strategies to identify what drives performance.
- Translate learnings into scalable best practices and share insights across the ecommerce and marketing organizations.
- Stay current on the social commerce landscape — platforms, competitors, emerging technologies, and consumer behavior trends — and bring a point of view on where the business should invest next.
You’ll Need to Have:
- 5+ years of ecommerce, marketplace, or social commerce experience, ideally within fashion, luxury, retail, or consumer brands.
- An entrepreneurial, builder’s mindset — someone who thrives standing up new channels, defining playbooks, and scaling from zero to one.
- Demonstrated success managing and growing marketplace or social commerce channels (TikTok Shop, Amazon, or similar platforms).
- Strong understanding of UGC, ratings and reviews strategy, and the role of social proof in driving conversion.
- Strong commercial orientation with the ability to connect channel performance to broader business objectives.
- Customer-first mindset with experience using platform analytics, customer data, and content performance to drive decisions.
- Highly analytical with the ability to move quickly from data → insight → action.
- Strong brand sensibility with the ability to maintain brand integrity across diverse and fast-moving platforms.
- A test-and-learn orientation with comfort iterating quickly and scaling what works.
- Proven ability to drive results in a collaborative, matrixed organization by influencing cross-functional partners.
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to clearly articulate strategy, performance, and recommendations.
- A hands-on, self-starting leadership style with a bias toward action and accountability.
- Familiarity with the social commerce platform landscape and a genuine curiosity about where the space is headed.
