To be considered for this position, applicants must be fluent in two or more languages, including at least one language that supports the needs of the program and community.
Under general direction, this position provides fiscal and administrative support to the Child and Adult Care Food Program and Food Services Manager. Supports CAPSLO’s mission by ensuring the programs are monitored financially and given administrative support in order to maximize the number of families and individuals it is able to serve effectively.
What we are looking for in the ideal candidate:
AA/AS Degree and at least 3 years related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience which will provide for at least 5 years of administrative/financial experience.
Depending on the department assigned, a valid California driver's license, a current DMV driving record, and proof of insurance may be required to fulfill job-related travel. For positions where driving is an essential function of the job, candidates must be at least 21 years of age and have a minimum of three (3) years of driving experience. Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable laws.
As a Finance Specialist for the Food Program you will:
Process and track program expenditures by reviewing invoices, purchase orders, and supporting documentation to ensure accurate and timely payments.
Allocate expenses and maintain financial records in accordance with program requirements, funding sources, and agency procedures.
Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and financial data errors while partnering with vendors, program staff, and Finance team members.
Prepare and maintain contractor agreements, program files, reports, and other fiscal documentation.
Support monthly meal reimbursement claims and meal count reporting to ensure accuracy and compliance with CACFP requirements.
Serve as a key resource to staff across multiple childcare centers by providing guidance on fiscal procedures and responding to routine questions.
Assist with fiscal reporting, staff training, and the implementation of financial policies and procedures.
Maintain program resources, update internal documents, and provide administrative support to ensure efficient program operations.
Translate program materials into Spanish as needed.
Collaborate with colleagues and leadership to support the success of children, families, and communities served by the program.
