Key Responsibilities
- Design Development: Prepare and review detailed engineering plans, typical sections, alignments, profiles, and cross-sections for roadways.
- Technical Analysis: Perform geometric design, drainage calculations, pavement design, and site investigations.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs follow local, state, and federal standards (e.g., DOT regulations).
- Coordination: Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams (traffic, structural, environmental engineers) to ensure project cohesion.
- Construction Support: Develop cost estimates, specifications, and project schedules, often providing technical support during construction.
Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 5-10 years of transportation engineering experience.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in MicroStation, AutoCAD, and OpenRoads Designer (ORD).
- License: Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
