Heart South is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Imaging Services team. This role serves as a direct patient caregiver, performing diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures while ensuring high-quality imaging, patient safety, and exceptional care.

~1 min read- βPerform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures, including:
- βNuclear Medicine studies
- βSPECT and SPECT CT imaging
- βPET imaging (as assigned)
- βCardiac stress laboratory functions, as required
- βPrepare, calculate, and administer radiopharmaceutical doses in accordance with regulations
- βProcess, enhance, and document images for physician interpretation
- βOperate and maintain nuclear medicine and imaging equipment
- βPerform quality control and safety checks on all nuclear medicine instrumentation
- βPerform venipuncture and evaluate IV access for medication and radiopharmaceutical administration
- βMaintain accurate records in compliance with radiation safety and regulatory requirements
- βParticipate in the ALARA Radiation Safety Program
- βEducate patients and families regarding procedures being performed
- βEnsure patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times
- βMaintain compliance with Baptist Health policies, departmental guidelines, and education requirements
Requirements
~1 min read- Graduate of an approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program
- Experience not required, but must have working knowledge of:
- Nuclear medicine procedures
- Equipment operation
- Radiation safety principles
Must meet one of the following:
- Current Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) certification through NMTCB
- Current ARRT (N) certification in Nuclear Medicine
Additionally required:
- Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification
