We are seeking an Assistant Vice-President (AVP), Special Investigations Unit (“SIU”), to lead Crum & Forster’s investigatory and anti-fraud program across a diversified specialty product portfolio covering all insurance lines of business.

- →This role will lead an established SIU organization of approximately fifteen professionals, including SIU Managers, SIU Investigators and SIU Analysts. The Assistant Vice-President will be responsible for the strategic direction, operational oversight and continuous improvement of Crum & Forster’s investigative practices, anti-fraud plan and anti-fraud governance. The Assistant Vice-President will oversee investigatory initiatives across multiple business units operating independently within the enterprise.
- →Working closely with Claims, Underwriting, Premium Audit, Premium Accounting, Legal, Compliance, Audit and senior leadership, the Assistant Vice-President will ensure SIU operations are timely, compliant, effective and aligned with business priorities. This includes oversight of suspicious claims, policies, applications and other insurance transactions, while maintaining a strong focus on investigative quality, service standards, regulatory reporting, fraud trend identification and operational excellence.
- →The Assistant Vice-President will also oversee SIU quality assurance, training, workload management, vendor governance and external agency coordination. This role serves as a key liaison with departments of insurance, fraud bureaus, law enforcement, prosecutors and industry anti-fraud organizations, while helping position SIU as a trusted business partner across the enterprise.
- →Overall, this position requires executive-level SIU leadership, strong commercial insurance acumen, regulatory discipline and the ability to drive a high-performing investigatory function that protects the organization and supports sound business outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university or equivalent experience is required.
- 10+ years of significant experience in SIU, insurance fraud, claims investigation, law enforcement or related experience, including leadership of managers and multi-level teams.
- Demonstrated success leading SIU or anti-fraud operations within a commercial and specialty lines insurance environment.
- Strong knowledge of fraud detection, investigative practices, evidence development, anti-fraud procedures and state fraud reporting requirements.
- Experience leading SIU quality assurance, service standards, training, workload management and operational performance oversight.
- Demonstrates strong communication and collaboration with business partners including Claims, Underwriting, Premium Audit, Premium Accounting, Legal, Compliance, Audit and senior leadership.
- Demonstrates critical thinking, sound judgment and the ability to manage complex fraud-related matters and competing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills to use metrics, trends and operational reporting to manage the function and drive continuous improvement.
- Experience overseeing SIU vendor management, including panel governance, performance, compliance and cost effectiveness.
- Experience working with departments of insurance, fraud bureaus, law enforcement, prosecutors and industry anti-fraud organizations.
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proficient abilities in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel and managing multiple claim systems and investigative technologies.
- Adaptable, self-directed and responsive in a fast-paced environment with changing business priorities.
- Demonstrates initiative and accountability, taking ownership to obtain high-quality investigative and business outcomes.
- Operate in a hybrid capacity, with preferred presence in the Morristown, NJ home office with periodic travel for leadership meetings, training, business partnership activity and external agency or industry engagement.

Salary ranges are available for all positions at this location, taking into account roles with a comparable level of responsibility and impact in the relevant labor market and these salary ranges are regularly reviewed and adjusted in accordance with prevailing market conditions. The annualized base pay for the advertised position, located in the specified area, ranges from a minimum of $175,00 to a maximum of $225,000. The actual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to the market pay for the jobs at each level, the responsibilities and skills required for each job, and the employee’s contribution (performance) in that role. To be considered within market range, a salary is at or above the minimum of the range. You may also have the opportunity to participate in discretionary equity (stock) based compensation and/or performance-based variable pay programs.
