We are a single-source provider for end-to-end HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, building automation, and fire protection solutions. Our service offerings include regularly scheduled maintenance, as well as one-time repairs and emergency response, while our construction team can handle the mechanical requirements of clients in a diverse range of industries.
EMCOR Services Scalise Industries seeks a Payroll Specialist who is primarily responsible for all tasks relating to payroll processing and secondarily responsible for administrative tasks, as assigned, for Human Resources.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Enter all new hire information, pay rate changes, status changes, etc. in the payroll system.
- →Collects time records submitted via various means and accurately enters the data into the payroll processing system (COINS ERP+) within established deadlines on a weekly basis. Follows up with employees and supervisors for any missing time to ensure an accurate payroll.
- →Reviews all payroll related data before submitting for approval to managers.
- →Submits to Corporate for processing and final approval by Controller or CFO.
- →Resolving payroll discrepancies by collecting and analyzing data.
- →Requests layoff checks as needed.
- →Processes necessary payroll reports as needed.
- →Processes monthly Union reports timely.
- →Processes Certified Payroll reports weekly.
- →Runs weekly labor reports for submission to Field Foremen.
- →Tracks and manages Paid Time Off requests and ensures proper PTO classifications are assigned to employees.
- →Sets up Union rates by classification including fringes and deductions in COINS ERP+ per Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
- →Must become knowledgeable with CBAs and reference them to ensure correct classification rates are applied to overtime, shift time, travel pay, etc. for Union employees.
- →Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll and personal identifiable information secure.
- →Provides reports and information for payroll and Union related audits.
- →Assists in other HR duties and processes assigned by the HR Manager.
Requirements

- A minimum of 3 years working in a payroll capacity required, preferably in construction with union contractors.
- Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e., Outlook, Word, and Excel).
- Must have extreme attention to detail, experience managing sensitive and confidential data, superior organization skills, and multitasking ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience in COINS ERP+ software a plus.
- Working knowledge of the construction industry a plus.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and EEOC guidelines a plus.
- Knowledge and/or experience in HR a plus.
