Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Support the development and implementation of the Construction Environmental Management Plan (CEMP).
- →Track compliance with applicable best management practices, Permit conditions, Environmental Work Plans, Environmental Management Plans, and site-specific plans.
- →Coordinate environmental design and construction input between various disciplines.
- →Collaborate with the project team in developing Environmental Work Plans and Environmental Standard Operating Procedures.
- →Conduct environmental risk assessments, identify potential impacts and develop and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
- →Prepare and review reporting associated with environmental compliance (e.g., Weekly Environmental Reports, Monthly Environmental Reports, Environmental Incident Reports, etc.).
- →Support the development and implementation of an environmental training and awareness program.
- →Manage data collection, storage and analysis.
- →Assist with environmental incident investigations in accordance with incident reporting procedures.
- →Support with field work, including environmental monitoring, and data collection.
- →Liaise on a day-to-day basis with project supervisors and others.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering or a related field.
- 5 – 8 years’ experience in construction projects of similar size/scope.
- CAN-CISEC or equivalent erosion and sediment control certification.
- Knowledge of Provincial and Federal environmental regulations (e.g., Water Sustainability Act, Environmental Assessment Act, etc.).
- Past experience in environmental inspecting and monitoring.
- Effective communication, data organization and technical reporting skills.
- Ability to work outside in various weather and terrain conditions.
- Proficiency with computer programs for managing and communicating environmental data.
- Valid driver’s license
