Responsibilities

  • →Provide design engineering sta􀆯 augmentation support to SRNS.
  • →Primary responsibilities include:
    • →HVAC design development and generation of design output documentsincluding but not limited to calculations for equipment sizing, duct sizing,pressure drops, cooling tower sizing, heating and cooling loads, and airbalancing.
    • →Create/modify piping and instrumentation diagrams, system descriptions,mechanical equipment lists, integration with fire protection design, and vendordocument reviews.
    • →Engineering Services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures.Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.
  • BS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Nuclear Engineering or current registrationas a Professional Engineer in Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering.

Requirements

  • At least 10 of relevant experience in HVAC design experience in the nuclear or process chemical industry.
  • Candidate must demonstrate knowledge of NFPA 90A, 90B, 91, and 801; ASHRAE Fundamentals; ASME AG-1, 509 and 510; SMACNA; and ARI 410, 430 and 450.
  • Subcontractor must have an active eFOCI registration and approved FacilityLevel Clearance with DOE / NNSA.
  • Candidate must have the ability to walk down systems in the field.
  • Due to federal contract security requirements, this position requires U.S. Citizenship. 
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. 
  • Candidate demonstrates experience in 2D MicroStation Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD).
  • Previous SRNS design experience and familiarity with the processes and  procedures for providing engineering support to SRS facilities is preferred.
  • Possession of an active DOE clearance (L or Q) within the past two (2) yearsis preferred.
