Overnight Engineer (Hotel Maintenance) - The Manner

Sitting on a quiet tree-lined street in Soho, twelve floors rise above the neighborhood’s storied lofts, boutiques, and galleries. The name derives from the particular manner of hospitality, one that feels more like staying at the home of a dear friend than at a hotel — discreet, refined, generous. Our hotel has 97 rooms and suites with four distinct F&B concepts led by an acclaimed chef. The street-side seafood restaurant and second floor cocktail bar will be venues that are open to the public. The Apartment and The Rooftop are spaces reserved exclusively for guests and friends of guests. 

The Position is for Maintenance Engineer

• →Maintain the overall appearance of the building; replacing broken lamps, bedroom fixtures & fittings, carrying out general repairs & maintaining high standards to decor & paintwork etc. throughout the building – adhere to The Manner Design standards. 
• →Perform preventive maintenance throughout all areas of the premise, including both front and back of house and rooms, interior, exterior and all F&B Spaces.
• →To ensure that all tasks relating to guest comfort, guest satisfaction or the impression the guest receives of the hotel must be treated with utmost priority.
• →Maintain all safety and asset register records at all times.
• →Take responsibility for all equipment onsite ensuring that it is maintained and ready for use at all times.
• →Always wear two-way communication devices as instructed.
• →Adhering to procedures in regards to guest privacy, confidentiality and access protocols for occupied rooms.
• →Have a comprehensive knowledge of, and ensure that you comply with all statutory local legislation and regulation, in particular, H&S, building regulations and Fire Safety.
• →Ensure that our social spaces embody The Manner brand and culture.
• →To maintain a good working relationship with your colleagues creating a team that works well together and with other departments.
• →Other duties as assigned. 
• →FLSD License

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or vocational training in relevant fields preferred.
• Proven experience in hotel engineering, facility maintenance, or a related role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Must have the ability to communicate in English.
• Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
• Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
• Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
• Climbing, reading, standing.
• Must be able to receive instructions and communicate progress of work assignments.

• walking and routinely lifting 25 lbs. to 50 lbs.
