What You’ll Do 

The Admissions Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership for admissions, attractions, and guest flow operations at Audubon Aquarium. This position directly supports frontline staff across ticket sales and scanning, attraction operations, guest rentals, guest arrival, wayfinding, queue and line management, group and school arrival/entry, and other assigned areas that help guests enjoy their visit. 

The Supervisor is responsible for providing guests with an outstanding experience, daily staff deployment, coaching and on-the-job training, operational readiness, guest service, safety, and consistent execution of established procedures. Working under the direction of the Admissions Manager, the Supervisor collaborates with leaders and staff across Guest Experience and the broader Aquarium team to support seamless daily operations and a welcoming, high-quality guest experience. 


Day to Day Responsibilities 

Provide direct daily supervision and support for frontline Admissions staff across ticketing, scanning, attractions, guest rentals, guest arrival, wayfinding, queues, group entry and other assigned areas. 


Coordinate daily staff deployment, rotations, breaks, and coverage, adjusting throughout the day based on guest volume and operational needs. 

Serve as a visible frontline leader, modeling proactive hospitality and reinforcing guest service and performance expectations. 

Train and coach staff on admissions procedures, ticketing systems, attractions, sales, safety, and guest service. 

Monitor guest arrival, queues, attraction capacity, and guest flow and respond proactively to congestion, delays, or changing conditions. 

Respond to guest questions, concerns, ticketing issues, and service recovery needs, escalating significant issues as appropriate. 

Ensure assigned areas are prepared for operation, including equipment, rental inventory, supplies, signage, queue-management resources, and communication tools. 

Follow and reinforce procedures for ticketing transactions, attractions, safety, and other operational controls. 

Communicate staffing concerns, equipment issues, guest trends, and operational needs to the Admissions Manager and appropriate partners. 

Collaborate with Group Sales, Marketing, Membership, Guest Experience, and other Aquarium teams to support group and school arrivals, promotions, membership initiatives, special events, high-attendance periods, and other operational needs.

What We’re Looking For 

Must Haves: (required for the role) 

High school diploma or equivalent. 

Minimum two (2) years of experience in guest service, admissions, attractions, hospitality, retail, tourism, or a similar customer-facing environment. 

Experience providing leadership, training, coaching, or direction to frontline staff. 

Strong guest service, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. 

Experience with or ability to learn point-of-sale, ticketing, and other operational systems. 

Ability to work collaboratively and maintain a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events as needed. 


 


Nice-to-Haves: (preferred for the role) 

One (1) or more years of supervisory or team leadership experience. 

Associate’s degree or relevant additional education or training. 

Experience in a zoo, aquarium, museum, attraction, or similar high-volume guest environment. 

Experience with admissions, ticketing, attractions, guest flow, cash handling, or high-volume operations. 


 


Physical Demands:  

Frequent standing and walking throughout the facility, with occasional bending, kneeling, reaching, and climbing stairs. 

Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds, including equipment, supplies, and materials associated with operational and event needs. 

Ability to operate computers, point-of-sale systems, radios, and other standard operational equipment. 

Visual and auditory ability to communicate with guests and staff and safely monitor guest-facing operations. 


 


Environmental Conditions:  

Primarily indoor work with occasional outdoor work and exposure to varying temperatures and weather conditions. 

Regular work in active, high-volume public spaces with varying noise levels and guest traffic. 

Occasional exposure to other environmental conditions associated with Aquarium operations, special events, and guest-facing activities.
