This position supports the Sargent & Lundy Strategic Advisory Services work group, which provides strategic, commercial, financial, and market advisory services to utilities, power project developers, investors, technology companies, and financial institutions. The intern will support assignments involving energy infrastructure, project development, asset transactions, business cases, and strategic planning.
This position will give you the opportunity to:
- →Support due diligence and strategic assessments for power and energy infrastructure projects, including market, commercial, technical, and financial analyses.
- →Build and maintain financial models and analyses for business cases, capital investments, project development, asset transactions, and strategic planning.
- →Research energy markets, power generation technologies, battery energy storage, transmission, and other energy infrastructure topics.
- →Evaluate project economics, risks, opportunities, alternatives, and key assumptions, and synthesize findings into client-ready materials.
- →Support proposals, presentations, executive briefings, white papers, and other Consulting deliverables.
- →Organize and analyze client and project data using Excel and other analytical tools, and collaborate with technical subject matter experts and senior consultants to communicate results to clients.

Education/Experience Requirements:
- Currently pursuing an MBA, Master's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or a related field at an accredited university. Candidates pursuing a Master's of Engineering with a business specialization, a dual degree, or an MBA are especially encouraged to apply.
- MBA candidates should have completed the first year of their program by the start of the summer 2027 internship. Other graduate candidates should have sufficient academic progress to contribute to project work during the internship.
- Rising seniors pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field who will have completed at least six semesters or equivalent quarters may also be considered.
- Minimum overall GPA of at least 3.0; excellent interpersonal, analytical, and written communication skills; strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Valued Knowledge/Skills:
- Related internship, co-op, consulting, or project experience, including financial modeling, business case development, data analysis, market research, or due diligence.
- Experience and/or coursework in power systems, renewable energy, battery energy storage, nuclear, thermal generation, transmission, or other power industry topics.
- Familiarity with data visualization or analytical tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Python, or SQL, and demonstrated interest in consulting and the energy industry.
