Research Scientist - Screening Specialist (m/w/d)
Quick Summary
We are looking for a Research Scientist with deep expertise in peptide chemistry and chemical biology to help shape and deliver our mRNA display & DNA encoded libraries (DEL) services for external clients. You will work independently on peptide and small molecule discovery projects, refine and work on internal Research & Development. This is a hands-on, scientifically demanding role at the interface of chemistry, molecular biology and client delivery. You will work with a collaborative team of scientists, contribute to platform innovation, and work closely with external partners.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Design, run and analyze mRNA display selections of cyclic peptide libraries against diverse targets
- →Maintain, optimize and extend the mRNA display platform, including library design, translation, cyclisation and selection workflows
- →Handle and quality-control nucleic acids (mRNA, DNA, cDNA), including library preparation, PCR/RT-PCR and next-generation sequencing readouts
- →Develop, validate and transfer assays for hit identification and confirmation
- →Contribute to project planning, timelines and documentation
- →Keep abreast of new developments in display technologies and cyclic peptide therapeutics, and propose improvements to our offering
- →Contribute to peptide and small-molecule DEL screening projects, including library screening, hit identification and data analysis
Requirements
~1 min read- Master in chemistry, chemical biology, biochemistry or equivalent experience
- Proven experience in mRNA display, including screening of cyclic peptide libraries and platform manipulation
- Strong practical skills in nucleic acid handling (mRNA/DNA work, PCR, library construction, sequencing analysis)
- Experience developing and optimizing assays for hit identification and validation
- Excellent written and spoken English
Additional Skills
- Experience in In Vitro peptide macrocyclization, bioconjugation & genetic code reprogramming
- Biophysical assays for binding and affinity (e.g. SPR, BLI, ITC, FP)
- Peptide characterization by LC-MS, HPLC and related analytical methods
- Industry experience in a biotech, pharmaceutical or contract research / service environment, with an understanding of timelines, quality expectations and client delivery
- Experience with DNA encoded libraries
