Senior Accountant

Fulfill, the FoodBank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, has been dedicated to addressing hunger in the Jersey Shore community since 1984. Our mission is to accelerate food security throughout Monmouth & Ocean Counties by leading a collaborative movement that connects people to food and related resources while also addressing systemic barriers to self-sufficiency and well-being. Fulfill proudly works with a network of nearly 300 partners, including soup kitchens, food pantries and shelters to provide 1.3 million meals per month to more than 130,000 families, children, seniors and veterans in need. Our headquarters is in Neptune with a satellite branch (The BEAT Center) in Toms River.

The Finance operation at Fulfill is a small team, and this position requires an organized and analytical team player to be engaged in a range of financial activities. The primary responsibility will be assisting the Controller with managing grant reporting, compliance oversight, and financial reporting. Other responsibilities may include day-to-day accounting activities and accounts reconciliations as described below. The successful candidate will have operational experience and a proven track record of proactive problem-solving.

Finance and Accounting• Assists Controller with monthly account analysis, roll forward schedules and other accounting projects.• Reconciles general ledger transactions and investigates discrepancies.• Supports month-end and year-end close process.• Prepares schedules for and participates in annual audit.• Protects organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

Grant Management• Assists with preparation of monthly performance reports to government funders.• Assists with various tasks associated with grants management.

Inventory Management• Participates in annual physical inventory.• Acts as backup for monthly Navision/Ceres close.• Reconciles inventory activity and financial reporting

Miscellaneous• Assists with Fulfill’s file retention system.• May perform various tasks associated with special projects or events.• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.

• At least five years of accounting experience, preferably in a non-profit environment, including two years in grant reporting and management role.
• Demonstrated knowledge of HRIS systems, accounting procedures and principles. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close.
• Strong proficiency in Office 365 products (particularly Excel, MS Teams, and MS Word) is essential.
• Experience with pivot tables and VLOOKUP a plus. Experience with Food Bank operations and/or CERES 4.5 Software is a plus.Strong organizational and communications skills.
• Ability to collaborate and work effectively with team members of diverse backgrounds. Be a highly organized, creative problem-solver with strong analytical, quantitative and interpersonal skills.
