About This Role

The Indirect Procurement Leader — CSA Segment serves as the primary liaison between the CSA (Climate & Solutions Americas) business unit and the Global Indirect Procurement organization. This role reports to the CSA Segment Procurement Leader and partners directly with the Head of Global Indirect Procurement to execute global sourcing strategies and category initiatives while ensuring they align with CSA's operational priorities and business model.

The role owns the development and execution of category strategy for MRO (~$120M) and Fleet (~$80M) spend, totaling approximately $200M in annual indirect procurement. For all other indirect spend categories (Professional Services, Contingent Labor, Travel, Digital & Telecommunications, Real Estate/IFM), the leader supports and executes globally-developed strategies and standards established by global category leaders, ensuring consistent application and value realization within CSA.

The leader manages a team of ~10 category and sourcing professionals, acts as a strategic bridge between segment operations and the global procurement function, participates in global category councils and strategy reviews, and drives value creation, risk management, and ESG objectives across CSA's entire indirect spend portfolio. This position requires deep understanding of both CSA's operational needs and the broader global procurement strategy and governance framework.

Job Description

MRO & Fleet Category Strategy & Ownership

• Develop and own the multi-year category strategy for MRO (~$120M) and Fleet (~$80M) within CSA, aligned with segment operational needs and Carrier's global sourcing standards and value realization targets.
• Lead RFx events, supplier sourcing, and contract negotiations for MRO and Fleet categories, ensuring favorable commercial terms, SLAs, and service levels that support CSA operations.
• Develop supplier segmentation and consolidation strategies to maximize leverage, drive cost productivity, and improve supply chain resilience within CSA.
• Establish and track MRO and Fleet KPIs and SLAs (cost, quality, on-time delivery, innovation), partnering with CSA operations and supply chain teams on performance and continuous improvement.

Global Category Strategy Execution & Support

• Support and execute global category strategies developed by the Global Indirect Procurement Leader and category teams for Professional Services, Contingent Labor, Travel, Digital & Telecommunications, and Real Estate/IFM spend.
• Translate global category standards, sourcing approaches, and supplier contracts to CSA context, ensuring consistent policy application while maintaining segment flexibility.
• Participate in global category councils, strategy reviews, and steering committees, providing CSA market insights, operational requirements, and performance data to inform enterprise-wide category initiatives.
• Drive adoption of global sourcing initiatives, best practices, and digital enablement tools within CSA, ensuring value realization and operational alignment.

Segment Operations Partnership & Liaison

• Serve as the primary procurement liaison for CSA Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Engineering, understanding and translating segment business requirements to procurement strategy.
• Partner with CSA Finance and Supply Chain on budget planning, demand forecasting, inventory management, and cost tracking for the ~$200M procurement portfolio.
• Manage CSA-specific supplier relationships and performance, resolving escalations and ensuring service levels meet operational commitments.

Spend & Supplier Governance

• Oversee procurement governance and compliance for all CSA indirect spend (~$200M), ensuring adherence to Carrier procurement policies, financial controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Establish and monitor category KPIs, spending trends, and supplier performance metrics, escalating risks and opportunities to CSA Segment Procurement Leader and global category teams.
• Proactively manage supplier risk, business continuity, and cybersecurity exposures within the CSA supply base.

Team Leadership & Talent Development

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of ~10 MRO, Fleet, and category execution specialists across CSA.
• Establish clear performance expectations, provide ongoing coaching, and create structured career development and succession plans.
• Foster a high-performing procurement culture aligned with Carrier values: accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.

Risk, Compliance & ESG

• Ensure compliance with Carrier procurement policies, financial controls, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing standards across all CSA indirect spend.
• Embed sustainability, ESG, diversity, and responsible sourcing objectives into CSA procurement strategies and supplier engagement, supporting Carrier's corporate sustainability reporting.
  

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree

• 7+ years of progressive experience in procurement, category management, or supply chain operations

• 3+ years of experience leading or managing a team in a matrixed organizations, balancing multiple stakeholder needs and reporting relationships in a procurement, supply chain, or operations capacity.

• 3+ years of experience in procurement processes, contract negotiation, spend analytics, supplier performance management, and RFx execution.

• 3+ years of experience developing category strategies, driving cost savings and value realization, and executing supplier sourcing initiatives.

• Ability to travel approximately 15%, domestically and internationally.
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or Finance

• Professional certification such as CPSM, CSCP, or MCIPS.
• Expertise in MRO, parts, or fleet management.

• Experience in a global manufacturing or industrial multinational environment.

• Experience managing procurement functions in a global, matrixed organization.

• Familiarity with procurement technology platforms (ERP systems, spend analytics tools, contract lifecycle management).

• Experience with sustainability, ESG sourcing, or supplier diversity programs.

• Experience driving procurement transformation, digital enablement, or process improvement initiatives.
