The Maintenance Lead is responsible for leading daily maintenance operations to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and ensure safe, efficient, and well-maintained equipment & facilities. This role provides hands-on technical support while coordinating maintenance activities, leading maintenance team members across all shifts, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business. The Maintenance Lead installs, repairs, and maintains production equipment, machinery, and facility systems using a variety of hand / power tools, laptop and precision accuracy devices.

Responsibilities

  • →Provides day-to-day leadership and direction to maintenance team members across all shifts daily.
  • →Supports the Senior Maintenance Lead in coordinating daily work assignments and team overall performance.
  • →Coaches, trains, and develops maintenance employees to promote safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

 

  • →Lead the maintenance team in supporting production objectives, including safety, quality, productivity, scrap reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • →Assign and prioritize daily maintenance activities under the direction of the Senior Maintenance Lead to achieve operational and KPI goals.
  • →Coordinate and respond to equipment downtime, corrective maintenance, work orders, and preventive / predictive maintenance activities.
  • →Perform troubleshooting, installation, repair, and maintenance of production equipment, machinery, and all facility systems.
  • →Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance programs are effectively executed timely.
  • →Maintain adequate spare parts inventory and assist with purchasing replacement parts as needed.
  • →Coordinate and support contracted maintenance services.
  • →Support maintenance improvement initiatives, including preventive maintenance optimization, equipment upgrades, and maintenance system enhancements.
  • →Perform equipment and gauge calibration as required.
  • →Promote and maintain a safe work environment by being a safety team member, ensuring compliance with company safety policies and procedures in & out of the maintenance department.
  • →Address routine employee relations issues, facilitate team building, and support problem-solving activities.
  • →Communicate effectively on all shifts, with production operators, engineering, quality, and other support departments to coordinate maintenance activities.
  • →Facilitate communication and shift handoffs across all maintenance shifts.
  • →Assist with scheduling maintenance resources, including overtime coverage, to meet operational needs.

 

 

  • →Train, mentor, and develop maintenance team members to improve technical skills and overall performance.
  • →Perform other duties as assigned.

 

  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching, mentoring, team building, conflict resolution, and motivating employees.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with individuals as well as group settings.
  • Working knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance systems and best practices.
  • Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and perform effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Flexibility to work across all shifts as business needs require, including absences, vacations, and other staffing needs as they surface.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, initiative, and commitment.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to accurately complete administrative and production-related responsibilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school education preferred.
  • Previous experience in industrial maintenance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Prior experience leading or supervising maintenance personnel preferred
  • Experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems is preferred
  • Strong ability to interpret blueprints (mechanical & electrical)

 

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking daily
  • Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs.
